Hennessy Jade is a bold and daring comedian in her late 20s struggling to make the big time in London. She’s tried everything. Her attempts to play it safe, play it kinda safe, and play the game have all failed. She hasn’t tried one thing – not playing and being herself. She is daring, witty and vulgar in equal measure. She sees herself as Britain’s younger, hotter, hairier female version of Dave Chappelle.

We don’t know much about Hennessy, apart from the stories she tells us in her stand-up. Are they true? Is it a fantasy? Is her name even Hennessy? As long as she has lived, she has used humour to cope, she is the living embodiment of either you laugh or you cry. In her one-hour comedy special, we will discover more and more, as she navigates the ramifications of a joke that has gotten her into deep waters and even received national attention.

What is to come of Hennessy Jade? Can she stand up for the fate of women in comedy or will she concede defeat to cancel culture?
