MULATTO BOY

Mulatto Boy by Edi de Melo

I’m starting to think that maybe it’s not the British they see. It’s my mum. Not me. That maybe they never saw me. Maybe I was never a member of the team.

15 October — 3 November, Omnibus Theatre

Mulatto Boy is a funny, bold, spoken word inspired one man show exploring the link between Black mixed – race identity and British national identity and how the two reflect and affect each other. A gut – wrenching ride told through West African theatrical practices and Angolan language, music, dance & traditions. Mulatto Boy asks us, what is it to be Black, Mixed Race and British and who gets to decide what we are?
